December 2009, Stated Communication

After a wonderful supper at 6:30pm, Mt. Moriah Lodge met for our December meeting, a double Fellow Craft degree and our annual Elections for Officers.


Ms. Emily Robinson was awarded our Student of the Month for December.


Bro. Bruce Scrimger and Bro. Ken Richardson were passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft with excellent work done by all and then congratulated by the Brethren.

Elections were held and Bro. Elihu Upham was elected as Worshipful Master for 2010. A full slate of officers will soon be posted. Installation of officers will take place on a special communication held on the 8th of January. All Masons and their families are welcome to attend.

On the 13th of December, the brethren of Mt. Moriah Lodge gathered at the Wood Funeral Home in Fryeburg to bid Rt. Wor. Bro. Howard DeLano our last ritual respects.

Masonic Funeral Service

On the 6th of December, 2009, the brethren of Mt. Moriah Lodge met at the Hiram Village Cemetery to pay our last respects in ritual to Wor. Rayfield Payne.



In honour of Wor. Brother Payne, the annual Book Award Scholarship which the Lodge presents to one deserving Sacopee student each year will now be known as the "Rayfield A. Payne Masonic Book Award."

November 2009, Stated Communication

Mt. Moriah Lodge met on the 18th of November, 2009 for our regularly Stated Communication. After a typically wonderful pot luck supper, we presented three Student of the Month Awards and held an Entered Apprentice Degree. It was one of the most well attended Communications that many Brothers would remember having ever attended at Mt. Moriah for many many years.


Ms. Shelby Day is awarded Student of the Month for September, 2009.


Ms. Jenna Resendes is awarded Student of the Month for October, 2009.


Ms. Lindsey D'Amico is awarded Student of the Month for November, 2009.


The Lodge also thanked the many folks who sponsored the Golf Tournament this year and helped make it a great success even during the Economic disaster.


The Lodge welcomes our newest member, Bro. Ken Richardson, to the Craft after his Entered Apprentice Degree.


Wor. David Eaton congratulates Wor. Terry Blake on not only being chosen Mt. Moriah Mason of the Year, but Mason of the Year for the District as well.


The Traveling Gavel is presented to the Master who was able to bring the most visiting members to our lodge.

May 2009, Stated Communication

May was a very busy month for the Lodge. In addition to the Table Lodge of Instruction shown in the post below, our dedicated members also presented our Bikes for Books, held a CHIPs day (Child Identification Program for kid safety), placed flags at Veteran's graves at our towns' cemeteries in time for Memorial Day, held our annual Supper of Thanks for the Firefighters of our three towns all in addition to our Regularly Scheduled Communication...




Chase Coen was our Student of the Month for the month of May. Here is he presented with his award and certificate.




Bro. Howard Burnell is presented with his Master Mason's Diploma.

April Happenings

In April, Mt. Moriah Lodge held a special Master Mason Degree and our Regularly Scheduled Communication. From the Official Record, here is what happened...






We won Best Ritual Work for the District again this year.

March 2009, Stated Communication

Mt. Moriah Lodge met in peace and harmony on the 18th of March, 2009 for another terrific meal and to pass our newest Entered Apprentices, Bro. Matt Coen, Bro. Phil Pliskin and Bro. Mel Halas to the degree of a Fellow Craft. Here the Brethren again receive the congratulations of the Lodge.



Again, our Student of the Month for February was absent our meeting so no award was presented.

After mailed notification being sent to all members in good standing and proposed changes having been read in open lodge last month, we also held a vote on several new ByLaws changes to be sent to Grand Lodge for Approval.

February 2009, Stated Communication

The Lodge met in peace and harmony on the 18th day of February, 2009. After a wonderful meal, the Lodge duly initiated Mr. Phillip Pliskin, Mr. Melvin Halas and Mr. Matt Coen into the Entered Apprentice Degree of Freemasonry.

Here the men are welcomed by their Lodge for the first time as Brothers.


Our Student of the Month for January did not attend our meeting this month so no award was presented.

January 2009, Stated Communication

Mt. Moriah Lodge met on the 21st of January, 2009 and after a fine meal, we presented Ms. Emily McDermith with our December 2008 Student of the Month Award. Here she accepts the gift certificate and award while her proud family and the Lodge congratulates her.



The Lodge also raised Bro. George Perry to the sublime degree of a Master Mason in due form. Here the Lodge congratulates our newest Master Mason and he signs our ByLaws.
