April 2008 Stated Communication

Our Student of the Month didn't show up for the meeting so we weren't able to award the Gift Certificate or Certificate of Recognition this month, but we did have a full house of member and visiting brothers to witness Bro. Matt Hatch be passed to the Degree of a Fellow Craft. As mentioned in the previous post, we had a wonderful bean supper and plenty of food for all.

Delta Lodge of Lovell visited our Lodge in such great numbers for the evening that they were awarded the Traveling Gavel for the district. (which we had acquired the week previous.)

Bean Supper - 12APR08

Mt. Moriah Lodge held a bean supper on the 12th of April in order to help raise funding for our upcoming annual Book Scholarship Awards. We fed a lot of happy folks and raised nearly $500. (and had more than enough beans left over for supper at our stated communication and Fellow Craft Degree later in the week!)

March 2008 Stated Communication

Mt. Moriah enjoyed a superb meal Roast Beef meal prepared by Chef Christof Rugg (The Chef is also a Brother and Senior Deacon of Oriental Lodge in Bridgton.) The meal was served by young ladies from the Rainbow Assembly #42 which meets at Oriental Lodge. Ms. Chelsea Bartlett, Worthy Advisor and Ms. Sylvia Talbott, Charity, both Juniors at LRHS made sure that all of the hungry folks at the supper were well fed and cared for. The girls were assisted in their duties by Ms. Deborah Larson, Mother Advisor and Ms. Bertha Bucknell, Grand District Deputy of the Rainbow Girls 4th District. With their cheerful service and the lodges donation of the proceeds, we raised $340 for the Rainbow Chapter this evening!

From the Wor. Master

The Rainbow Girls from Bridgton will be preparing a fine Roast Beef dinner for the lodge at our Regularly Stated Communication on March 19th. The cost will $10.00 each with all of the proceeds going to the girls, and we will be presenting the Master Mason degree for Bro. Steve Robinson that same evening. All Master Masons in good standing are invited to attend what should be a fantastic evening of fellowship (and excellent food.)

February 2008 Stated Communication

Having exemplified his lesson from the previous degree very well, Bro. Steve Robinson was passed to the Second Degree of Masonry at Mt. Moriah's Regularly Stated Communication on the evening of the 20th of February, 2008.

Wor. David Eaton presented Wor. Terry Blake with his Past Master's Apron in due form and with much joy...

...and the lodge received notice from the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of NH that our friend and Bro. Rick Melanson was a Mason in good standing, whereupon a ballot was held, he was unanimously received and in signing our bylaws became the newest member of Mt. Moriah Lodge (and was promptly installed as our Sr. Steward for the year!)

Due to February Vacation in the Schools this week, our February Student of the Month will be awarded at our March Regular Stated Communication.

It was voted that we will hold a Special Communication on Wednesday the 27th of February to present the Fellow Craft Degree to Bro. Matt Hatch who was unable to attend our Regular Stated due to family illness. The Degree will begin at 6:30pm with refreshments following the work of the evening.
